“KAZAKHSTAN” SPORTS PALACE

The total area is more than 22 000 м2. It is a 4-storied building comprising a 50-meter swimming pool with 8 lanes, 5000-seat hockey ice arena, hotel, restaurant, cafe, bars.

In 2001 Kazakhstan Sports Palace hosted its first visitors. Kazakhstan SP was individually designed for our construction and climatic zone. There are both covered and open sport grounds. One can find here not only ice field and swimming pools (for children and adults) but also additional gym facilities for various sports and activities such as acrobatics, weight lifting, choreography, tennis, mini-football and many others.

Long-extended facade and relatively small height made this building quite complicated in the proportional sense. To solve this problem our architects applied multifaceted method. Sharp shapes and volumes, asymmetrical character of the composition are the means that made Kazakhstan Sports Palace not only easily recognizable but also attractive by its dynamism and modern silhouette. It is the dynamics of lines that made Kazakhstan SP distinctly noticeable compared to other sport establishments of Astana. Naturally metallic and ultramarine colors had been chosen as main colors of Kazakhstan Sports Palace. They symbolize water (swimming pool) and ice (the steel of the skates). This project became one of the most positive events from ecological point of view. Ecological problems are the most urgent problems of present time. In our case the ecological damage was reduced to a minimum. Cooperation in servicing ice field and the swimming pool is maintained by integrity of all services in our project.

Kazakhstan Sports Palace is one of the most interesting projects due to its high economical and energy-saving efficiency. Coming through the heat changers, the heat, produced by refrigerators of the skating ring is not wasted but used for heating the water in the swimming pool. Technical effect amounts up to 2,5 million Tenge a year.

The ice field and the swimming pool combined under one roof is the main feature of Kazakhstan Sports Palace. It was meant not only as a venue of sport completions but also for cultural and public events. Covering of the ice field with special heat-insulating material makes it possible to convert the ice ring into a field for other sport competitions or social events without melting the ice.

Kazakhstan Sports Palace designed by our architects not only facilitates the health of the people but also meets all ecological requirements and provides economical profit.
